North America Missions

North American Mission Board

The North American Mission Board (NAMB) exists to work with churches, associations and state conventions in mobilizing Southern Baptists as a missional force to impact North America with the gospel of Jesus Christ through evangelism and church planting. We accomplish that through Send North America, our national strategy for mobilizing churches to plant churches and mobilizing church planters and other missionaries to assist with those efforts. Through Send Relief, the NAMB is assisting churches in reaching people in need with practical help and the hope of the gospel. Learn more at https://www.namb.net/

Southern Baptist Convention

For more than 170 years, Southern Baptists have sought to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ to all people everywhere. The Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) was formed with a gospel vision. Its founding charter identifies its singular focus: “..for the purpose of eliciting, combining, and directing the energies of the Baptist denomination of Christians, for the propagation of the Gospel.” The SBC has grown to be a network of more than fifty thousand cooperating churches and church-type missions banded together to make an impact for God’s kingdom. WMU (Woman’s Missionary Union)

Many of our ladies are members of the WMU. The WMU believes in missional living: Pray for missions; Engage in mission action and witnessing; Learn about missions; Support missions; Develop spiritually toward a missions lifestyle; Participate in the work of the church and denomination.

Founded in 1888, WMU is a missions organization that has educated and involved generations upon generations in Christian missions.  Our purpose – to challenge Christian believers to understand and be radically involved in the mission of God – is accomplished through our age-level missions organizations, hands-on missions opportunities, and additional resources produced by WMU.

WMU is a non-profit organization headquartered in Birmingham Alabama, that offers a vast array of missions resources including curriculum for age-level organizations in churches, volunteer opportunities, conferences, leadership training, ministry ideas and models and much more.

The main purpose of WMU is to educate and involve preschoolers, children, students, and adults in the cause of Christian missions.
